Rookies ‘Midgets’ in 1988.

On November 27th 2017 Phantoms Netball Club changed it’s name to Cheltenham Panthers Netball Club. This decision was voted on by it’s members so that the club could be a part of the Cheltenham Panthers Junior Football Club and Le Page Panthers Cricket Club family.

Phantoms Netball Club was formed in 2002, as a result of a merger between Kangas and Rookies Netball Clubs, both of which has competed at KDNA since the Cheltenham Heights and Moorabbin Netball Associations amalgamated in 2000. Rookies was formed in 1982, with ‘Midget’ players being aged 7 and up, and the oldest division being Under 21s. Skirts were pleated and the fashion was to have badges commemorating seasons played, or premierships won, sewn onto the front!

Once the two old clubs decided to merge, the committees worked together effectively to create a new club – including name, colours and updated uniforms. Phantoms netball club has a great tradition of community involvement, fair play and frequent participation in finals.

We are proud of our past, passionate about our future and persistent in working to create a club that showcases netball at its absolute best.
